2012 Lexus LS-F TMG Edition
That seemingly souped up Lexus LS that has been spotted lapping the Nurburgring these past few weeks now has a name. The Lexus LS-F has now been christened the TMG Edition, giving props to the company’s motorsports division, Toyota Motorsport GmbH. It’s hyped up engine and scorching numbers will come to fruition when the vehicle debuts at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show in December.
The widebody DTM-style uber-sedan (can you call a Japanese luxury sedan uber?) is actually named the TMG (Toyota Motorsport GmbH) Edition and looks to have been built by the brand’s motorsports division. The specs are intriguing but not exactly conclusive with a 650-hp engine reportedly under the hood. Could it be a twin-turbo version of the IS-F motor? Or perhaps a larger displacement version of the LFA’s engine?
Until then, according to the spied spec-sheet, the 2012 Lexus LS-F TMG Edition is powered by a 5.0 L engine that develops 478 kW (650 PS, 641 HP) - quite possibly a higher displacement version of the LF-A’s V10 or a turbocharged version of the IS-F’s 5.0L V8. Or perhaps a larger displacement version of the LFA’s engine? We have a feeling more will be revealed at the Tokyo Auto Show in December.
